The Blasted Lands bear that name for a reason: they were twisted by the magic that brought the Dark Portal into being, spewing the rampaging orcish Horde into Azeroth. These are required and must be completed before you can continue the scenario. The situation for Azeroth is grim, and the war. The Dark Portal was created by a joint effort between Medivh, possessed by the Dark Titan Sargeras, and the warlocks of the Shadow Council, which allowed the Horde to invade the world of Azeroth. If you’ve already been to Draenor and are trying to get back, and either have not created your garrison or have deleted the hearthstone that takes you to it, just go to the Blasted Lands and through the Dark Portal. Sure fast travel around Draenor is nice, but the flight paths get you to most places in 2-3 mins tops anyway and when compared to other buildings of it's size, it just falls awfully short.
